ATS-FRIENDLY CV TIPS (Highly Recommended for This Job)

1️⃣ Use Procurement & FMCG Keywords

Include industry-relevant keywords throughout your CV such as:

  • Procurement

  • Supply chain

  • Sourcing

  • Spend analysis

  • Supplier evaluation

  • Category management

  • Contract management

  • Cost optimisation

  • Purchase orders

  • Vendor management

  • Forecasting

  • Inventory analysis

These keywords help your CV move through automated screening tools.

2️⃣ Use a Clean, Simple CV Format

ATS systems struggle with:
✘ Tables
✘ Text boxes
✘ Graphics
✘ Columns

Use:
✔ Single-column structure
✔ Standard headings (Education, Skills, Experience, Certifications)
✔ Simple fonts (Arial, Calibri, Helvetica)

3️⃣ Tailor Your CV for Each Application

Include exact words from the Tiger Brands job description, especially under:

  • Skills

  • Qualifications

  • Responsibilities

ATS tools match word for word, so customisation improves your score.

4️⃣ Don’t Use Acronyms Alone

Write both the acronym and the full phrase:

  • “Procurement (CIPS)”

  • “Microsoft Excel (MS Excel)”

  • “Future Leaders Development Programme (FLDP)”

This avoids relevance loss during ATS scanning.

5️⃣ Start Bullet Points With Verbs

Use strong action words like:

  • Coordinated

  • Analysed

  • Supported

  • Evaluated

  • Compiled

  • Monitored

  • Negotiated

This improves clarity and ATS readability.

6️⃣ Include Metrics Where Possible

ATS systems reward quantifiable achievements. Example:

  • “Assisted in improving procurement cycle efficiency by 15%.”

  • “Managed data accuracy for over 200 inventory records.”

Even approximate percentages help.

7️⃣ Save Your CV as PDF (Unless Stated Otherwise)

Most ATS systems accept PDFs.
If the job ad says “Word document only,” follow that instruction.
