Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth to participate in a structured Visual Merchandiser Learnership Programme within its Commercial – Sales and Marketing division. This 12-month work-based learning programme is designed to equip participants with the practical retail execution skills, commercial awareness, and customer service capabilities required to thrive in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The programme focuses on developing future-ready merchandising professionals who understand in-store execution, product visibility, stock rotation, brand compliance, and customer engagement. Learners will work closely with Sales Team Members and Account Developers to support volume growth, improve retail standards, and ensure optimal brand presence across direct and indirect customer outlets. Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics or Maths Literacy (minimum 40%)

  • Grade 12 Communication with English and a second language (minimum 40%)

  • Must be a South African citizen

  • Aged between 18 and 35 years

  • Must be unemployed at the time of appointment

  • Must not be enrolled in another learnership or full-time studies

  • Must not have completed the same qualification previously

  • Must be willing to work six days a week

  • No criminal record or adverse credit record

  • Must consent to verification checks (ID, qualifications, criminal record)

  • Driver’s licence advantageous

  • Post-matric qualification in Sales & Marketing advantageous

Responsibilities

In-Store Execution & Merchandising Excellence

  • Execute daily call schedules in designated bronze and tin outlets

  • Implement visual merchandising standards aligned with brand guidelines

  • Ensure correct stock rotation and FIFO principles

  • Maintain product availability, visibility, and quality

  • Execute and monitor in-store displays and promotional campaigns

  • Complete iRED surveys and adhere to RED execution scorecards

  • Support customers with order placement through the MyCCBA platform

  • Collaborate with Sales Account Developers for guidance and performance feedback

  • Provide relief support as directed by management

 

Programme Details

This learnership runs over a period of 12 months. Participants must obtain a minimum of 120 credits to successfully complete the qualification. The programme combines structured classroom-based learning with practical, on-the-job experience in retail merchandising and sales execution.
